DraftKings (NASDAQ: DKNG) has made a significant hire in the form of new chief business and growth officer, Marie Donoghue. Donoghue was previously with Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) where she revolutionized Amazon Prime’s streaming platform by exclusively broadcasting the NFL’s primetime productions.

Before her time with Amazon, Donoghue spent 18 years at ESPN, making her a highly experienced individual in the sports media industry.

DraftKings Growing Partnership

Interesting, DraftKings has a growing relationship with Amazon through its broadcasts of NFL games. As the official sportsbook and iGaming sponsor of the NFL broadcast, the gaming company is providing pre-game and live odds for Thursday Night Football.

Amazon has also partnered with DirecTV to broadcast these games in public establishments such as bars and restaurants. Those games are called by Al Michaels and Kirk Herbstreit, with Kaylee Hartung as the sideline reporter.

With this recent hire, DraftKings clearly seeks to capitalize on new growth opportunities. Donoghue will work closely with existing teams to uncover new sustainable growth opportunities with professional sports leagues, broadcast, and streaming opportunities, among others. This hiring is considered a key move in the company’s pursuit of future success.
