In a recent podcast, Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman expressed skepticism about the Oakland Athletics’ plan to move to Las Vegas. She doubts the relocation due to funding issues and the chosen new site.

Goodman preferred the original stadium site choice and expressed concerns regarding the new location causing traffic congestion. Notably, despite the mayor’s comments, the Las Vegas Strip decision doesn’t fall under her authority, and the incoming move depends on the Oakland A’s and Tropicana’s current owner, Bally’s Corp.

Do They Even Want to Come Here?

Goodman claims she believes the Athletics’ owners are more interested in staying in Oakland and expresses her support for the loyal fan base there. She later clarified her comments on Twitter, confirming her excitement about Major League Baseball potentially coming to Las Vegas.
