30-40 Stab Wounds Reported in Main Street Station Suspected Murder Case

A man was brutally attacked in downtown Las Vegas’s Main Street Station parking facility over a dispute that turned violent. The victim sustained multiple slash wounds to his arms and abdomen.

According to a medical report, the suspect stabbed the victim approximately 30-40 times.

Security guards immediately responded to the scene and successfully separated the two individuals, eventually placing the suspect in handcuffs.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) promptly apprehended the suspect, identified as 25-year-old Dylan Ihmels from Henderson, Nevada.

Ihmels is now facing charges of attempted murder and battery with a deadly weapon causing substantial bodily harm.

As of the latest update, Ihmels remains incarcerated at the Clark County Detention Center without bail. His next court appearance is scheduled for August 31.

The weapon used in the attack was described as a small knife, as reported by Las Vegas TV station KVVU.

Argument Over Money

Ihmels claimed that the altercation stemmed from a disagreement over money, according to Las Vegas TV station KSNV. However, he did not provide further details regarding the incident.

The victim sustained six significant stab wounds to the abdomen and additional injuries on both arms, as reported by the Las Vegas Review Journal.

First responders at the scene applied tourniquets to the victim’s arms and administered a chest seal to control the bleeding, as stated by the Review Journal.

Suspect and Victim Treated by Medical Professionals

The victim was promptly transported to the University Medical Center (UMC) for medical attention. As of now, no updated information regarding the victim’s condition has been provided.

Ihmels also received medical treatment at UMC, as he suffered cuts on his cheek, left elbow, and right knee, according to KSNV.

The victim’s friend, who was accompanying him back to their parked car, did not appear to sustain any injuries during the incident.

According to the victim’s friend, both the suspect and victim were present at the Strat Hotel, Casino & Tower earlier in the day when the argument initially arose.

The altercation and subsequent attack were captured by surveillance cameras at the nearby California Hotel & Casino (The Cal), located in close proximity to the Main Street Station parking lot.
