- Revenue distributions bolster community initiatives
- Payouts for Q2 show a decline compared to Q1
- More than 29 communities received a total of CA$81,399,887 this fiscal year
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) has reported a gaming revenue distribution of CA$37,765,676 for the second quarter (July 1-Sept. 30, 2025) to 29 communities in Ontario that host brick-and-mortar gaming establishments.

The OLG’s fiscal timeline spans from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026. This year, the total payouts to the 29 communities have reached CA$81,399,887, allocated based on the Municipality Contribution Agreement’s guidelines.
“Revenue from OLG gaming sites allows municipalities to enhance local programs and elevate the quality of life for their residents,” stated Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming, Stan Cho. “The residents of Ontario are the ultimate beneficiaries of OLG’s gaming revenues, with 100% of OLG profits reinvested in the province to align with provincial objectives.”
This marks a decrease from the CA$43,634,211 allocated in Q1 (April 1-June 30, 2025).
A More Modest Second Quarter
The Municipality Contribution Agreement employs a formula that applies to all provincial land-based casino sites. This formula includes a progressive scale taking into account slot machine revenue along with shares of table game and sportsbook revenues for applicable sites.
Under this agreement, municipalities receive 5.25% of the first CA$65 million of slot revenue, 3.0% on the subsequent CA$135 million, 2.5% on the next CA$300 million, 0.5% on slot revenue exceeding CA$500 million, and 4% of table game revenue (when applicable), plus 4% of sportsbook revenue (when applicable).
Casino Woodbine Dominates the Payouts
Since 1994, host communities have collectively received nearly CA$2.3 billion in non-tax gaming revenue.
Casino Woodbine stood out, distributing CA$6,787,190. The following amounts were allocated to Niagara Falls at CA$4,709,562, Casino Pickering at CA$3,789,765, and Rideau Carleton Raceway Casino (now known as Hard Rock Casino Ottawa) at CA$2,447,303.
Additionally, Casino Windsor contributed CA$2,433,439, while Gateway Casino Innisfil gave CA$2,121,555.
