Speakeasies were once secret establishments during Prohibition, but today they have become popular attractions on the Las Vegas Strip. These nine hidden speakeasies offer exclusivity and a taste of the illicit past. Here is a list of the newest speakeasies in Las Vegas:
1. The Vault, Bellagio
Opening on Monday, Aug. 28, The Vault is the newest speakeasy on the Strip. Finding it and obtaining a reservation can be a challenge, but once you do, you’ll enter an exclusive wonderland designed by Alessandro Munge. Classic cocktails costing $135 each can be enjoyed in a luxurious setting. The bar offers rare alcohol from the 1930s and 1960s. To gain entry, send a direct Instagram message to @thevaultbellagio, but be aware that only 50 patrons are allowed at a time.
2. Easy’s Cocktail Lounge, Aria
Hidden behind a fake wall at the Easy Donuts stand in the Proper Eats food hall, Easy’s Cocktail Lounge offers an intimate experience for up to 42 guests. Enjoy donuts, caviar, and crafted cocktails by mixologist Eric Hobbie. Reservations are recommended but not necessary.
3. Barbershop Cuts & Cocktails, Cosmopolitan
Located at Cosmopolitan, Barbershop Cuts & Cocktails offers a unique experience with a working hair salon in the front and a 130-capacity lounge in the back. Enjoy “spiked juice” drinks and shooters at the vintage bar. Accessing the speakeasy requires finding the door marked “Janitor” in the back of the barbershop, leading to a small closet and then into the speakeasy.
4. Ski Lodge, Cosmopolitan
Part of the Superfrico eatery, Ski Lodge at Cosmopolitan provides a faux ski lodge experience with a view of falling snow behind the bar. The bar menu, created by James Beard Award-winning mixologist Leo Robitschek, offers seasonal drinks and special Izakaya beverages with Japanese spirits. To enter, go to Superfrico on the second level of the Chelsea Tower.
5. Ghost Donkey, Cosmopolitan
Hidden behind a donkey drawing at the Block 16 Urban Food Hall, Ghost Donkey is a small Mexican bar with a seating capacity of just 10 at the bar and 15 in the lounge. Enjoy traditional Mexican spirits with a modern twist and unique nacho toppings. No reservations required, it’s a walk-ins only speakeasy.
6. Here Kitty Kitty Vice Den, Resorts World
Here Kitty Kitty Vice Den offers an opium den experience with Japanese decor. Enjoy $20 cocktails such as the Black Moon Rising, which combines Suntory Toki whiskey with other ingredients. To gain access, go to the Famous Foods Street Eats food hall and find the Fuhu Cha Chaan Teng noodle shop. A password may be required, or the staff will guide you to the entrance if space is available.
7. The Lock, Horseshoe
At The Lock, you’ll be treated to a custom cocktail experience tailored to your preferences. Answer a questionnaire, and a bartender will create a $22 cocktail just for you. Accessing the speakeasy is like solving a series of puzzles. Take the escalator down to Jack Binion’s Steakhouse, find the fake vault door marked with an illuminated key, and make a reservation for entry.
8. Vinyl Parlor, Park MGM
Located within the On the Record nightclub, Vinyl Parlor is a speakeasy that can hold up to 25 people. After making your way through the karaoke rooms and band stage, you’ll find a hidden bar where celebrated mixologists from other cities create unique cocktails inspired by the venue’s vinyl collection. Access the speakeasy through a hidden door that’s lined with cassette tapes inside the On the Record area.
9. 1923 Prohibition Bar, Mandalay Bay
Inspired by the “Yellowstone” series, the 1923 Prohibition Bar offers an Old West vibe and bourbon-forward cocktails. Located between Mandalay Bay and the Luxor, find the bookcase next to the 5 Degrees Ice Bar and make a reservation for a table.
