In just three days, Spiegelworld, known for “Absinthe” at Caesars Palace, announced a new show on the Strip and needed to alter its name. “Box Box,” a show scheduled to premiere at the Cosmopolitan before the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, is apparently a reference to F1 slang for a pit stop.
In a press release, Spiegelworld founder Ross Mollison described the show as “just a little bit of late-night fun for an intimate crowd, celebrating a landmark Las Vegas sporting event.”
Mollison revealed that the name “Box Box” turned out to be problematic due to its similarity to other entities and was thus changed to “Lights Out!”. The new name pays homage to the start of an F1 race.
The Starting Line
Months ago, talented comic artists were tasked with creating content for a “tiny, stupid, fun show that explored why human beings are obsessed with the idea of very fast cars driving around a track.” The result is “Lights Out!”, which debuts on November 15th inside Superfrico at the Cosmopolitan.
