A groundbreaking deal between the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) and Las Vegas Events (LVE) has ensured that the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (NFR) will remain in Las Vegas until 2035. This agreement was confirmed just before the premier of NFR 2023 in Las Vegas.
PRCA CEO Tom Glause expressed delight at this extension, stating, “This is a truly historic day for the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. This extension will benefit all aspects of the PRCA, including our contestants, stock contractors, committees, contract personnel, and our fans. This commitment by Las Vegas preserves the momentum that we have established over the last 38 years.”
Although the financial terms of the contract were not disclosed, the deal was initially set to expire in 2025 and LVE’s President Tim Keener is pleased with the ongoing partnership, saying, “We are pleased to host this iconic event for an additional ten years.”
The NFR, which has a history of 360 consecutive sold-out performances, features the biggest names in rodeo across various categories. The event was moved from Las Vegas to Arlington, Texas in 2020 due to Nevada’s COVID-19 restrictions but returned in 2021, drawing a total attendance of 173,350 over 10 days of competition.
This year’s NFR is all set to take place at the Thomas & Mack Center from Wednesday, Dec. 7 through Saturday, Dec. 16.
