As of December 5, 2023, the Seminole Tribe’s mobile sportsbook is now open to sports bettors in Florida. This comes just ahead of the launch of in-person sports betting and expanded casino games. The move reflects the tribe’s optimism that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and the gaming compact negotiated in 2021 will succeed. Legal battles are still ongoing, with the U.S. and Florida Supreme Courts declining to intervene on West Flagler Associates’ challenge to the tribe’s sports betting monopoly. The gaming compact, projected to generate $2.5 billion for Florida in its first five years, also allows the Seminole Tribe to introduce roulette and craps at its six casinos in the state. The sports betting and gaming opportunities are open to anyone in Florida over the age of 21.
