A pro basketball player and his girlfriend were involved in the murder of a 23-year-old woman in Henderson, Nev., as recent police reports suggest.
Chance Comanche, 27, and his girlfriend, Sakari Harnden, 19, are soon to face murder charges for the death of the victim, Marayna Rodgers.
Comanche previously played for NBA G-league team, the Stockton Kings, until his arrest led to his release from the organization.
Discovery of Victim
Marayna Rodgers’ fate came to light after her remains were discovered in the desert after being reported missing. It was later confirmed by the Clark County coroner’s office.
Rodgers, a Washington State resident, was last seen alive entering a car with Harnden and was later reported as missing.
Her disappearance raised suspicions prompting an investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) officers, which eventually led to Comanche’s arrest in California.
Comanche is in custody pending trial, while Harnden was charged with first-degree kidnapping and is currently detained in Clark County, Nevada.
Comanche’s Basketball Career
Comanche is a 6′-10” center, who previously played for the Stockton Kings for two seasons, before being dismissed following his arrest.
The Kings have declined to comment on the arrest.
