It’s unknown if Adele was aware of Celine Dion’s presence at her Caesars Palace residency on Saturday night. When a security guard pointed out someone she hadn’t greeted in the crowd, Adele was visibly surprised.

This was the first time the current queen of Las Vegas was surprised by its former queen at a concert, a special moment given that it happened in the same theater where Dion debuted her “A New Day” residency in 2003.

Adele was so overwhelmed that she stopped singing “When We Were Young” and let her band play the song instrumentally while the two icons embraced. Tears flowed as Dion held Adele’s face and Kleenex was needed.

“Thank you for coming to my show, I love you,” Adele said before resuming her performance, introducing her special guest to the ecstatic audience.

“Weekends with Adele” is nearing its end, concluding on November 23, with Adele reportedly rejecting a $100 million extension offer.

There will be more emotional moments to come, but it’s hard to top this one.

As many are aware, Dion, 56, has been battling Stiff Person’s Syndrome since her previous Las Vegas residency from 2011-2019, known as “Celine.” This rare neurological disorder causes severe spasms and seizures, as revealed in the Amazon Prime documentary “I am: Celine Dion” released in June.

Although there is no cure, Dion is said to be fighting hard to pursue a Las Vegas residency she initially committed to at Resorts World in 2021.

In July, shortly after Dion demonstrated her strength by performing at the Olympics, TMZ reported that negotiations for a scaled-down residency at the Resorts World Theatre were in the final stages, slated to begin either late this year or early 2025.

Obviously, plans for this year are no longer feasible.
