Rash of Robberies in Parking Lots
A man was sentenced last week to nine years and eight months for committing a series of robberies in parking lots at California casinos.
Last Wednesday, Sirron Croskey pleaded guilty to various charges, including reckless evading, carrying a loaded unregistered firearm in public, second-degree robbery, and personal use of a firearm enhancements, according to California Attorney General Rob Bonta.
A Contra Costa Superior Court judge also ordered Croskey to pay restitution totaling $9,855 to seven victims.
The armed robberies occurred in the San Francisco Bay area, targeting casinos in Contra Costa, Alameda, Santa Clara, and Napa counties.
During the most recent robbery in Napa County, Croskey allegedly led deputies on a high-speed chase before fleeing from the vehicle and attempting to escape on foot until deputies apprehended him.
The same firearm was reportedly used in all the robberies.
“Californians deserve to live in safety and security,” Bonta emphasized in a statement released on Friday. “I am extremely proud of my team’s dedication to justice and their efforts in holding offenders accountable. Through collaborative efforts, we can create a safer and more secure environment for all Californians.”
