Firearms were taken from parked cars at Indiana’s Bally’s Evansville Casino & Hotel last week.
The thefts occurred around 2 a.m. on Friday. The cars were unattended in the casino’s north parking lot, as reported by Indiana TV station WFIE.
A Dodge Charger had its rear left window broken, and a loaded 9mm handgun was stolen from inside. Another loaded 9 mm handgun was also taken from a Ford Fusion in the parking lot after the rear left window was removed. It was later found in the lot.
The suspect is currently being pursued. No value was given for the missing firearms.
Man Killed at California Restaurant
Authorities in California are on the lookout for the individual who fatally shot a victim inside a restaurant on Saturday.
The tragic incident occurred at about 8 p.m. at Salvimex Restaurant located on South Vermont Avenue near Rosecrans Avenue in Gardena, Calif.
According to Los Angeles TV station KTLA, the restaurant was reportedly being used as an illegal casino. However, these claims have not been confirmed.
Both the shooter and the victim were regular patrons of the restaurant, as mentioned by police.
While both men were seated at separate tables, the suspect stood up, approached the victim unexpectedly, and shot him. The victim was hit in the chest by at least one bullet and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The victim, a 35-year-old man, has not been identified by authorities. It is unclear whether the victim and the shooter had any prior connection.
It is likely that an autopsy will be conducted to confirm the victim’s identity, as well as determine the cause of death.
The suspect was last seen fleeing from the restaurant. His description has not been released by authorities as of Monday, although he is believed to be between 35 and 40 years old.
Officer Norma Eisenman of the Los Angeles Police Department stated that it is uncertain if the shooting was gang-related, according to the Daily Breeze, an online news source from California.
Two Men Admit Guilt
Two individuals in Michigan recently pleaded guilty to operating a gambling establishment without proper licensing.
Linos Antonio Kas-Mikha, 52, of Grand Blanc, Mich., and Robert Jameson, 55, of Saginaw, Mich., were apprehended after authorities investigated an illegal storefront casino in Flint, as reported by Michigan TV station WJRT.
Kas-Mikha will be sentenced on November 25, while Jameson’s sentencing is scheduled for December 2.
Both individuals could face up to 10 years in prison and may also be required to pay fines of up to $100,000.
