The previous owner of the 67-story blue tower on the Las Vegas Strip, which became Fontainebleau in December 2023, will play a role in organizing Donald Trump’s inauguration as the 47th US president.
Trump named Kelly Loeffler, former US Senator, and Steve Witkoff, a real estate mogul, as co-chairs of the Trump Vance Inaugural Committee to organize the inauguration on Jan. 20, 2025.
Witkoff, a friend and supporter of Trump, is a prominent New York real estate developer.
In his statement, Trump emphasized the celebration of his victory and the start of his tenure as the 47th President of the United States.
Witkoff had acquired the Fontainebleau project in Las Vegas with hopes to complete it and name it after his late son, Drew. Financing challenges and the COVID-19 pandemic led to the property’s sale to Koch Industries’ real estate arm in 2021.
Middle East Assignment
In addition to his inauguration role, Witkoff has been appointed as a special envoy to the Middle East by Trump. He previously served on the board of trustees for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.
