A man from Louisiana, who was sentenced to 99 years in prison for drugging, kidnapping, and sexually abusing a woman he met at the Golden Nugget Casino in St. Charles, Louisiana, has been unsuccessful in his attempt to reduce his sentence.
The man, Stephen Douglas Cormier, was found guilty in 2023 of second-degree sexual battery, second-degree kidnapping, and mingling harmful substances. His phone contained images of the abuse, along with footage of another woman being similarly abused.
Stephen Cormier met his victim, referred to as “E.M.,” at the Golden Nugget on October 5, 2021, while she was drinking and playing blackjack. They had met previously at the casino two months prior, as per court documents.
Vile Assault
After Cormier drugged the victim’s drink and sexually assaulted her, she was found disoriented and lethargic in her car by her mother. Video evidence showed Cormier returning her to the car in a compromised state.
The victim mentioned having no recollection of the events after meeting Cormier and underwent a sexual assault examination that confirmed the abuse.
Sick Video
A video found on Cormier’s phone showed him digitally penetrating another unconscious woman, leading to his appeal claiming prejudice against the jury. However, the appeal was dismissed by the 3rd Circuit Appeal of Court, citing evidence of Cormier’s willingness to sexually abuse unconscious women.
