Hard Rock International is set to auction artifacts from the Mirage, currently undergoing a transformation into Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and Guitar Hotel Las Vegas.

This month-long online auction, hosted by LA’s Live Auctioneers.com, features an extensive array of items from the iconic hotel that debuted under Steve Wynn in November 1989. The collection comprises over 300 pieces of art and memorabilia that were prominently showcased both publicly and behind the scenes.

Items up for auction include the renowned bronze mermaid statue, two brass dolphin sculptures, and 50 works by glass artist Dale Chihuly, along with many pieces related to the former resort’s volcano attraction and the Siegfried & Roy show. (Notably, the Siegfried & Roy statue has been donated to the Neon Museum!)
“The Mirage was a landmark destination showcasing a rich collection of art that contributed to the unique ambiance of the resort over the years,” stated Joe Lupo, president of Hard Rock Las Vegas. “This auction offers collectors, Las Vegas fans, former guests who cherished The Mirage, and historians a rare opportunity to own genuine artifacts from this legendary resort.”
Hard Rock International acquired the Mirage for $1.076 billion from MGM Resorts in 2022. The iconic property closed its doors on July 17, 2024, promptly beginning the demolition of its features and the stripping of the tri-tower main structure.
The well-known artificial volcano was demolished in August, followed by the domed atrium in January.
The new Hard Rock Las Vegas (the original is now Virgin Hotels Las Vegas) is set to debut in the latter half of 2027, featuring a guitar-shaped tower where the volcano once stood.
