This season, MGM Resorts International and BetMGM are set to enhance responsible gaming messaging in National Football League stadiums as part of an extensive campaign coinciding with Responsible Gaming Education Month in September.
For the third year in a row, GameSense messaging will be featured on LED ribbons throughout NFL venues, and for the first time, Lincoln Financial Field, the home stadium of the Philadelphia Eagles, will also join in starting in 2025. Additionally, responsible gaming information will be presented on stadium scoreboards during pre-game festivities and in gameday magazines.
The outreach will encompass 10 stadiums: Acrisure Stadium (Pittsburgh Steelers), Allegiant Stadium (Las Vegas Raiders), Empower Field at Mile High (Denver Broncos), Ford Field (Detroit Lions), GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium (Kansas City Chiefs), Lincoln Financial Field (Philadelphia Eagles), M&T Bank Stadium (Baltimore Ravens), MetLife Stadium (New York Jets), Nissan Stadium (Tennessee Titans), and State Farm Stadium (Arizona Cardinals).
“Having GameSense displayed in stadiums allows us to reach millions of fans weekly,” remarked Rhea Loney, Chief Compliance Officer at BetMGM. “It’s a robust platform for raising awareness and reinforcing our company’s commitment to offering a safe and educated gambling environment.”
GameSense, created by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation and licensed to MGM Resorts in 2017, encourages proactive measures among guests regarding responsible gambling practices. The campaign will also be highlighted across MGM’s digital channels, retail sportsbooks, Las Vegas billboards, and the MGM Grand Live Dealer studio throughout September.
MGM Resorts has trained over 1,900 employees to serve as GameSense Advisors, while BetMGM continues its collaboration with EPIC Global Solutions for experiential training.
Moreover, MGM Resorts has pledged $250,000 to the International Center for Responsible Gaming to support independent, peer-reviewed studies focusing on casino employee assistance and player protection.
“Investing in our workforce through comprehensive training and scientific research enhances operational standards and enriches the guest experience,” stated Stephen Martino, Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer at MGM Resorts. “This also underlines our long-term commitment to sustainability for both our business and the communities we serve.”
This initiative reinforces MGM Resorts’ and BetMGM’s backing of the American Gaming Association’s “Have A Game Plan. Bet Responsibly.” public advocacy campaign promoting safe betting and engagement with licensed operators.
“Cooperation is key to improving responsible gaming results,” emphasized Joe Maloney, Senior Vice President of Strategic Communications at the AGA. “We are proud to work alongside MGM Resorts and BetMGM, witnessing significant impacts from these initiatives.”
