The outline of an electric guitar’s base is becoming increasingly evident as the construction of the imminent Hard Rock’s Guitar Hotel takes shape against the iconic Las Vegas Strip backdrop.

This week, construction crews were observed fitting window panes as the building ascends toward its intended height of 660 feet, having begun its journey from the site where the Mirage’s iconic volcano once erupted.
The impressive guitar structure symbolizes resilience amid economic challenges facing nearby establishments. With a reported 8% decrease in Strip visitor numbers year-over-year in Q2 2025, numerous expansion projects have encountered setbacks or cancellations. (Overall gaming revenue fell by approximately 2% in the same quarter.)

Despite these economic concerns, the Seminole Tribe of Florida has injected an additional 7% into the $4.3 billion project to enhance entertainment offerings, including expanded pool areas and an updated casino floor.
The property, acquired by the tribe for $1.075 billion in late 2022, has been bustling with action since the emotional closure of the Mirage on July 17, 2024. Demolition teams quickly dismantled the volcano lagoon, allowing Penta Building Group to establish foundations by early 2025.
Recent changes—such as abandoning plans for a southern pedestrian bridge linking to Harrah’s—have led to speculation about budget constraints. Nevertheless, a representative from Hard Rock characterized these modifications as “strategic refinements” aimed at streamlining guest access. (Plans for a northern bridge to the Venetian are still in place.)
The Hard Rock Casino and Guitar Hotel Las Vegas is on track to debut in early Q4 of 2027, featuring approximately 3,675 hotel rooms, 175,000 square feet of gaming space, multiple pool areas, two spa facilities, venues for live entertainment, and a diverse selection of dining, lounge, and retail options.
