With over $3 billion in assets and achieving its first positive operating cash flow, Trump Media & Technology Group Corp. is strategically entering the predictions market.

The company has teamed up with Crypto.com Derivatives North America (CDNA), an exchange and clearinghouse registered with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, to launch event-driven prediction markets on its Truth Social platform through an innovative feature known as Truth Predict.

Expansion into the predictions market

Trump Media states that Truth Predict will enable users to trade prediction contracts on significant events, such as political elections, fluctuations in interest and inflation rates, commodity pricing of gold and crude oil, and major league sporting events. This feature will provide live price updates, allowing users to react to market changes.

This initiative positions Truth Social as the pioneering social media platform to offer access to federally compliant prediction market contracts via CDNA. Beta testing is set to commence shortly, with plans for a full launch across the United States, followed by a global rollout once all necessary approvals are obtained.

Devin Nunes, Chairman and CEO of Trump Media, remarked that this product merges social interaction with cutting-edge predictive technology.

“Truth Predict will empower our dedicated users to participate in prediction markets within a trusted community, utilizing our social media platform to foster unique discussions and comparisons of their forecasts,” Nunes stated. “For too long, these markets have been dominated by global elites – with Truth Predict, we aim to democratize knowledge and enable everyday Americans to leverage collective intelligence, turning free expression into actionable insights.”

Nunes further emphasized that Trump Media’s solid financial standing and robust social media framework will facilitate the rollout of this advanced technology.

Incorporating blockchain via Cronos

According to Trump Media, Truth Social and its streaming service, Truth+, will integrate the Cronos (CRO) digital currency using Crypto.com’s technology. Users who earn “Truth gems” for their engagement will be able to exchange these for CRO tokens to buy Truth Predict contracts.

This integration follows a prior agreement between Trump Media and Crypto.com to establish a CRO rewards system across Truth Social and Truth+, and to create Trump Media Group CRO Strategy, Inc.

This new entity is in process post a proposed merger with Yorkville Acquisition Corp., which is a special-purpose acquisition company (SPAC) created by Yorkville Acquisition Sponsor LLC, aimed at establishing a digital asset treasury company focused on acquiring CRO assets.

Collaboration with Crypto.com

Kris Marszalek, Co-Founder and CEO of Crypto.com, stated that the partnership aligns with user expectations from social media networks. “Crypto.com has rapidly emerged as a trusted provider of prediction market solutions, and we are excited to collaborate with Truth Social to launch the world’s first prediction markets from a social media platform,” commented Marszalek. “This collaboration perfectly aligns with users’ desires for community engagement and the pursuit of truth.”

He added that the partnership will offer users a powerful tool for gauging market sentiment across numerous events, seamlessly merging Truth Social’s communication platform with Crypto.com’s regulated trading framework.

Trump Media’s entry into the predictions market occurs amidst increasing regulatory scrutiny on event-based trading platforms from state authorities. State gambling regulators have also cautioned licensed sports betting operators about the potential licensing ramifications should they engage in sports predictions within any U.S. jurisdiction.

Jeffrey Stantial from Stifel noted that there could be more regulatory clarity regarding the expansion of prediction markets by late 2025 or early 2026.
