Boyd Gaming, a key player in the Southern Nevada casino market alongside Station Casinos, has reported that the revitalization of Jokers Wild is approaching completion. During the recent earnings call, Boyd’s CEO Keith Smith announced that Cadence Crossing Casino, located near Boulder Highway in Henderson, will officially launch towards the end of Q1 2026.

While specific costs for Cadence Crossing have not been disclosed, CFO Josh Hirsberg indicated that approximately $75 million has been allocated for investments in both Cadence and Paradise projects.

Upon opening, Cadence Crossing will feature 450 slot and video poker machines. This 50,000-square-foot neighborhood casino is expected to serve as a significant new attraction for the local area.

The casino will launch with a variety of dining and beverage options, along with a central bar. Future plans may include expanded gaming options and a four-story hotel offering 114 rooms, once the existing Jokers Wild Casino is torn down.

The groundbreaking for Cadence Crossing occurred on April 3, 2025.

Henderson Expansion

Smith noted that the timing for Cadence Crossing Casino is ideal, as Henderson is currently witnessing a surge in housing development.

He provided details on the rapid growth within the Cadence master-planned community, which saw the sale of more than 1,200 new homes last year, ranking third nationwide for master-planned communities in 2025.

Given the robust residential growth, we believe Cadence Crossing Casino is situated for a strong return on investment. With ample land still available at Cadence Crossing for future development, we have the opportunity to enhance this property to satisfy the increasing demand,” Smith stated.

Boyd Gaming currently manages 28 casinos across 10 states, including 10 locations in Las Vegas.

“Overall, we are optimistic about the long-term outlook for our Las Vegas locals market,” Smith concluded.

Boyd’s Ambitious Plans for 2026

Cadence Crossing represents one of Boyd Gaming’s more modest investments in recent times.

The company is also engaged in a $750 million resort venture in Norfolk, Virginia, collaborating with the Pamunkey Indian Tribe. Last November, Boyd launched a temporary casino in this naval city while the permanent resort is under construction. This upcoming destination is poised to feature a 200-room hotel resort, alongside a commercial casino offering 1,500 slots, 50 table games, and a sportsbook, set to open in 2027.

In Illinois, Boyd is advancing plans to redevelop its Par-A-Dice Hotel Casino, with no budget yet disclosed for a new riverboat proposal that was unveiled last week. A previous proposal for a “modernized riverboat” was estimated at $160 million.
