Planet Hollywood operates as a hospitality and entertainment powerhouse, marrying the allure of Hollywood with unforgettable guest experiences that encompass accommodation, gaming, dining, shopping, and entertainment. Founded by Robert Earl in 1991, with notable celebrity investments from figures like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Demi Moore, and Sylvester Stallone, Earl retains ownership of the organisation.

Earl and Planet Hollywood remain dedicated to expanding internationally. They launched Hollywood Thane City in India back in November 2022, with Georgia being their next strategic move.

“This signifies a pivotal moment in the ongoing global expansion of the Planet Hollywood brand. Tbilisi is a city vibrant with character and growth,” stated Earl.

“Collaborating with our partners, we’re crafting a destination that seamlessly blends entertainment, hospitality, and immersive experiences in an ambitious and market-authentic manner,” Earl concluded.

Casinos in Georgia

Following the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Georgia permitted various forms of gambling. The 2000s saw a significant expansion of casinos, targeting primarily Turkish tourists.

The majority of casinos in Georgia are boutique venues located within hotels and resorts, considerably smaller than the Planet Hollywood Resort Casino in Las Vegas.

In the capital city of Tbilisi, Casino Adjara serves as the largest casino, offering around 300 slot machines and 50 live dealer tables. In contrast, Planet Hollywood Las Vegas boasts approximately 875 slot machines, 67 table games, a 23-table poker room, and a sportsbook.

The Planet Hollywood Tbilisi casino is poised to occupy a middle ground, with its 50,000 square feet offering space for over 500 slot machines and numerous table games.

In addition to the casino, Planet Hollywood Tbilisi will feature a 500-room hotel branded by Planet Hollywood and a 600-room Radisson Blu luxury tower. Complementing the destination will be a 4,000-seat concert venue along with 70,000 square feet dedicated to retail, dining, and nightlife.

The integrated resort casino complex is a joint venture between the Georgia-based Orbi Group and the diversified investment firm Block Group, who are leveraging the Planet Hollywood brand under a licensing agreement.

Mark Advent, known for his role in developing New York-New York on the Las Vegas Strip, is also contributing to the Tbilisi project.

Further details regarding the timeline and investment budget will be disclosed in upcoming months.

The Planet Hollywood Brand

Currently, there are five Planet Hollywood locations worldwide, with Las Vegas being the sole casino. Previously recognized for its celebrity memorabilia and movie-themed attractions, Planet Hollywood has shifted its focus toward a more upscale experience in recent years.

For example, PH Goa is a luxurious five-star hotel that emphasizes wellness, offering programs such as yoga, spiritual coaching, meditation, and astrology.
