Jiri Prochazka stands out as one of the most unconventional fighters in the UFC. As he prepares for the light heavyweight title showdown against Carlos Ulberg at UFC 327 tonight, some uncertainty looms among bettors, reflected in the BetMGM analysis.

Prochazka, who faced Alex Pereira twice in the division (with Pereira vacating the title to move to heavyweight and enabling tonight’s match in Miami), holds a -120 line at Caesars Sportsbook. Ulberg stands at +100. At BetMGM, Prochazka is also favored at -120 (52% of bets, 33% of the handle), after initially opening as a +115 underdog. Meanwhile, Ulberg reflects +100 with 48% of bets and 67% of the handle.

The light heavyweight championship has seen three vacancies since Jon Jones transitioned to the heavyweight title in 2020. Now, with Pereira out of the picture, 33-year-old Prochazka (with a 6-2 UFC record) has a golden opportunity to seize the 205-pound title.

Known for his exciting style, Prochazka absorbs considerable damage but possesses knockout power and thrives on pressuring his opponents. This unpredictability may, however, leave him vulnerable when up against someone as skilled as Ulberg.

Top Prop Bets to Consider

For bettors analyzing the matchup, Prochazka averages 5.69 significant strikes landed per minute and absorbs 5.60 in return. While he takes significant punishment, Ulberg averages 6.54 significant strikes landed and only 4.04 absorbed. However, no statistic can fully account for Prochazka’s exceptional resilience, which could prove pivotal in this bout.

In his career, Prochazka boasts 28 wins by knockout, including 23 first-round finishes. Betting on Ulberg to withstand the pressure from a highly motivated Prochazka over five rounds is a tough expectation, which explains the current betting trends favoring the Czech combatant.

“I believe I can deliver a far more accurate performance and secure the championship,” he stated to Sportsnet, expressing a desire for a rematch with Pereira in the future, notwithstanding Pereira’s weight class change.

Murzakanov by KO: A Prop with Popularity

BetMGM reveals that Prochazka by KO/TKO or DQ at +125 is their most bet prop (in terms of tickets), followed by Vicente Luque by Decision/Technical Decision at +550 in his preliminary middleweight clash against Kelvin Gastelum, Francisco Prado by Decision/Technical Decision at +900 in welterweight vs. Charles Radtke, and Josh Hokit by Decision/Technical Decision at +550 during his heavyweight fight against Curtis Blaydes. Additionally, Azamat Murzakanov by KO/TKO or DQ at +200 in his light heavyweight bout versus Paulo Costa is also prominent among bettors.

Interest is high in the American Hokit (+100, with 57% of bets and 79% of the handle at BetMGM) as he seeks to establish himself in the heavyweight division. However, he only has two UFC bouts under his belt, both resulting in first-round knockout victories against Denzel Freeman and Max Gimenis. Blaydes (-120), an experienced UFC veteran, is well acquainted with the Octagon, having contended against champions like Francis Ngannou and current title holder Tom Aspinall.

Murzakanov is currently -225 in his matchup with Costa (+185, with 69% of bets and 59% of the handle), while Dominick Reyes is favored at -145 in his light heavyweight fight against Johnny Walker at +120, and the featherweight contest between Cub Swanson and Nate Landwehr is evenly matched at -110.

UFC 327 is set to commence at 9 p.m. EST tonight at the Kaseya Center in Miami.
