Federal law enforcement officials shared images on Tuesday depicting individuals and cars thought to be connected to the April 6 shooting of rapper Offset at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. They are seeking assistance from the public to identify those shown in the images.
The incident transpired around 7:24 p.m. when a sizable group confronted Offset outside the casino. Amidst the altercation, one person from the group brandished a handgun, firing a single shot that struck the Atlanta rapper in the leg. Reports indicate that the group attempted to steal Offset’s watch, but the robbery was thwarted.
Offset, born Kiari Kendrell Cephus, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was discharged from the hospital four days later.
Authorities have reported that the suspects escaped in two Chevrolet SUVs: a matte gray Chevrolet Tahoe and a black Chevrolet Suburban. Their investigation, supported by surveillance footage and witness accounts, suggests that the Suburban departed north toward Hollywood while the Tahoe headed south toward Miami.
Following the shooting, rapper Lil Tjay (Tione Jayden Merritt) was apprehended nearby by Seminole Police, though officials clarified he is not linked to the shooting. His charges are unrelated, including disorderly conduct and driving without a valid license. So far, no suspects have been charged directly in connection with the shooting.
The investigation is a collaborative effort involving the Seminole Police Department, the FBI’s South Florida Violent Crime and Fugitive Task Force, and the Miami field office of the FBI. Given that the Hard Rock is situated on Seminole Tribe of Florida territory, a federally recognized tribe, crimes that occur there fall under federal jurisdiction.

Offset’s Response
Offset was discharged from the hospital on April 10 and took to Instagram to share his recovery journey.
“I’m fine,” he wrote, “but my aim is to get stronger! I’m focusing on my family, my healing, and getting back to my music… coming to understand that life’s made up of quiet victories and loud defeats…”
With rapper Cardi B, Offset shares three children, despite their divorce filing in 2024. He is also the father to three additional children.
Offset was raised in Lawrenceville, Georgia, alongside his fellow Migos members, Quavo and Takeoff. Tragically, Takeoff was killed in a shooting incident outside a bowling alley in Houston, Texas, in November 2022.
