Historic Jackpot Win

The DropZone jackpot won on Thursday marks the largest payout ever at theScore Casino, according to a spokesperson.

The lucky winner played the exclusive Hollywood Casino Neon Vault slot title, available only at theScore Casino.

DropZone is a progressive jackpot, which accumulates from bets across theScore Casino’s game offerings by players who opted in. As of today, the DropZone jackpot in Ontario has reset and is now over $300,000.

Standalone Casino Application

In Canada, both theScore Casino and theScore Bet are operated by PENN Entertainment, which has a presence in 27 jurisdictions across North America, offering a diverse portfolio of casinos, racetracks, and online betting services. They also feature an in-house iCasino content studio responsible for titles like Hollywood Casino Neon Vault.

PENN launched theScore Casino as a standalone app last April, while iCasino features had been integrated into theScore Bet since Ontario’s market debut in April 2022. Currently, the app boasts over 2,200 gaming options, including unique branded games like Blue Jays Blackjack.

Plans for Alberta Launch

A representative from PENN verified that both the sportsbook and casino applications are set to launch in Alberta when the market opens on July 13.

“In our Interactive segment, the sustained growth in online casinos, along with favorable trends in Ontario, fuels our preparation for the anticipated regulated iCasino and online sports betting launch in Alberta on July 13,” stated PENN President & CEO Jay Snowden during a recent earnings report call.

Escalating Progressive Jackpot

Our Interactive sector saw a significant year-over-year improvement in Adjusted EBITDA, reflecting the first complete quarter under our revamped digital strategy. iCasino revenue increased by approximately 15% year-over-year, supported by the robust performance of the standalone iCasino, which achieved record quarterly and monthly revenue highlights in March. These trends bolster our confidence as we approach the Alberta launch.

For PENN’s customers in the U.S., the current DropZone jackpots in Pennsylvania and Michigan each exceed $2 million on the Hollywood Casino app. The Hollywood Casino platform is available as both a standalone application and integrated within theScore Bet Sportsbook in multiple states, including Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
