Betty Gaming CA Ltd., the igaming operator based in Toronto, has received a UK license and is set to launch operations there on June 1, confirmed Justin Park, Co-Founder and Group CEO of Betty.

Franchise Strategy
During the Q1 2026 investor briefing, Park disclosed via LinkedIn that the UK Gambling Commission has granted the company a license.
“The UK represents our inaugural market outside of Ontario and serves as a proof of concept for our decentralized ‘franchise’ model aimed at global scalability,” he remarked.
In 2025, Betty outlined an ambitious path to establish itself as a global casino brand through a franchise model, collaborating with “top-tier managers”. This partnership entails equipping these managers with resources for success, including branding, technology led by a dedicated CTO, digital user acquisition strategies, an operational playbook, and startup funding, while granting them ownership in the franchise.
Additionally, Betty aims to earn IP licensing fees from third-party franchises.
Cultural Retention
“I have great confidence in our UK CEO, Adele Baker, who has set high standards in talent acquisition and possesses an exceptional grasp of the pressing question: when to replicate Ontario’s successful strategies and when to innovate?” said Park.
“The team, composed of both Betty veterans and fresh faces, is beginning to unify. I am realizing that maintaining the Betty culture is crucial for our ongoing success but presents a significant challenge.”
Last month, the UK government raised the Remote Gaming Duty from 21% to 40%, which impacts online gaming offerings such as casinos and slots.
UK Operations Set for June
According to Park, the UK team has devised a “fascinating approach” to the newly introduced tax rate, “which involves more than simply reducing RTP and supplier fees.”
Betty UK will utilize 23 Broadway, a player acquisition technology platform.
Betty, in collaboration with Will Ventures, 359 Capital, CEAS Investments, and Dave Bartman, announced in March that they would be providing 23 Broadway with $3 million in seed capital. The Atlas platform, powered by artificial intelligence, was previously employed by Betty for rapid scaling in Ontario without requiring the development of their own marketing technology.
Branding for Women
“I’m discovering that upholding the Betty culture is key to our lasting success and immensely challenging,” noted Park. “I’ve come to understand that UK players closely resemble our customer base in Ontario, and a surprising demand exists for dependable chat-based customer support.”
The company officially entered Ontario’s regulated igaming market in February 2023, presenting itself as a female-focused casino brand.
Betty is also set to launch in Alberta once that regulated market commences in July.
