Nellie’s Southern Kitchen, the family-driven Southern-style eatery by the Jonas Brothers at the MGM Grand, is set to close by June 1, 2026. The announcement of this closure was initially highlighted by Vital Vegas.

Nellie’s first opened on June 4, 2022, in the former location of the Mexican eatery Hecho en Vegas. This second branch of the concept, founded by Denise and Kevin Jonas Sr. in collaboration with TLI Bedrock LLC, was named to pay tribute to the culinary legacy of Nellie Jonas, Kevin Sr.’s grandmother.

Kevin Jr., Joe,
and Nick Jonas were present at the grand opening, perfectly aligned with the beginning of their 2022 residency at the Park MGM. Although star power can initially spark interest in a restaurant, it does not ensure long-term success.

The original Nellie’s continues to thrive in Belmont, North Carolina.

Lotus of Siam is resuming operations on Friday, May 8, at its original address, 953 E. Sahara Ave., within a modernized and extended Suite A5 of the Commercial Center, located just east of the Sahara.

Praised for its crispy garlic prawns, Khao Soi (crispy duck curry with egg noodles), and Nam Prik Ong (chili dip), this James Beard Award-winning restaurant was celebrated by late Pulitzer Prize-winning food critic Jonathan Gold as “the finest Thai dining experience in North America” shortly after its launch in November 1999.

The establishment closed its doors following a roof collapse in 2017. It will softly reopen for dinner starting Friday, May 8, with an official grand opening slated for Sunday, May 10.

The second location on East Flamingo Road will remain in operation.

New Dining Updates

Wagyu Factory, a nationwide all-you-can-eat BBQ and hot pot establishment featuring A5 Japanese wagyu and M9 Australian wagyu, is set to soft-open its inaugural Las Vegas branch on Friday, May 8, at 740 S. Rampart Blvd. in Boca Park. The chain is operated by the Chubby Group, the team behind Chubby Cattle and The X Pot.

Meanwhile, Le Café Central in Chinatown has ceased operations after just one year. This café was launched in April 2025 as part of the Le Café du Vegas team. Co-owner Carmen Barbur confirmed the closure, although other locations in Henderson and Southern Highlands remain functional.

Redhead Burger, established by Miami Beach siblings Sammy and Christian Moyyaner, has made its debut at the Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian this week. The 50-seat venue, situated in the previous Casanova location, offers smashburgers, chicken and mushroom sandwiches, fries, tater tots, milkshakes, and draft beer every day from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.
