Station Casinos to observe 50th anniversary with month-long festivities throughout Las Vegas

Station Casinos is set to celebrate its remarkable 50th anniversary this July with a vibrant month-long event series across Southern Nevada. The festivities will include thrilling fireworks displays, concerts, gaming promotions, and community initiatives, marking five decades of dedicated service to Las Vegas residents.

Operating 20 entertainment venues throughout Southern Nevada, Station Casinos will kick off its anniversary celebrations on July 1 with a spectacular fireworks and drone show at Palace Station, the original property established during the company’s early years.

The festivities will unfold throughout the month featuring live entertainment, exclusive giveaways, food and beverage deals, and nostalgic photo booths at select locations.

Independence Day fireworks shows are scheduled at various Station Casinos locations on July 4, with premium viewing experiences available at Durango Casino & Resort, Green Valley Ranch, and Red Rock Resort.

For half a century, Station Casinos has enjoyed the privilege of growing alongside the Las Vegas community that we proudly call home,” stated Frank Fertitta IV, Senior Vice President of Operations at Station Casinos.

This milestone is a true celebration of our guests, the local patrons who have supported us for generations, the communities that have evolved alongside us, and especially our dedicated team members, whose commitment creates unforgettable experiences every day,” he continued.

Founded by Frank Fertitta Jr., Station Casinos was designed to cater to local residents at a time when most gambling establishments in Las Vegas primarily served tourists on the Strip or in downtown areas.

The company’s inaugural venue, simply called “The Casino,” opened on July 1, 1976, featuring a compact 5,000-square-foot layout with 100 slot machines and a snack bar. This venue later transformed into Bingo Palace before being renamed Palace Station in 1984.

Under the direction of Frank Fertitta III, the company expanded beyond its original site, launching Boulder Station in 1994 and establishing itself as one of the largest operators focused on the Las Vegas local market. The company’s parent organization, Red Rock Resorts, is publicly traded on the Nasdaq.

In celebration of the anniversary, Station Casinos will offer commemorative collector’s chips, and specially branded Boarding Pass and VIP parking cards. There will also be a “Jackets for Jackpots” promotion rewarding players with throwback satin jackets for hitting slot jackpots of $2,000 or higher.

Moreover, the company will feature food and beverage specials, such as $1.99 margaritas, $3 beers and shots, along with late-night dining promotions at select locations.

With a workforce exceeding 9,700 employees, Station Casinos boasts over 1,300 staff members who have been part of the company for at least 20 years. Its longest-tenured employee has dedicated an impressive 49 years to the company and its predecessor properties.

Additionally, the company aims to enhance its community outreach efforts during the anniversary month, with locations collectively pledging 1,976 volunteer hours to local initiatives including Three Square Food Bank, Opportunity Village, and Spread the Word Nevada.
