SpeedLabs secures $6.5 million in seed funding to create AI-driven live sports markets

SpeedLabs has secured $6.5 million in a seed funding round spearheaded by Parlay Capital Holdings. This innovative sports technology company aims to bolster its team and roll out an AI-driven market platform for live sporting events by summer 2026.

The funding round also saw contributions from Bullpen Capital, TA Ventures, and EdgeEquity.

SpeedLabs is in the process of creating Momentum Markets, a platform intended to establish and price new betting and prediction markets in real-time as game events transpire. Unlike conventional sportsbooks that primarily adjust odds on existing bets, this platform creates entirely new markets in reaction to changing game momentum.

The technology relies on AI foundation models tailored for sports to analyze live game action, facilitating the instantaneous creation of markets that enable users to speculate on whether the game’s momentum will sustain or shift.

SpeedLabs envisions the product as infrastructure for sportsbooks and prediction market operators, rather than just a consumer-oriented solution.

“The landscape of sports betting is evolving rapidly. Prediction markets are birthing new categories weekly, while sportsbooks remain tethered to outdated predefined markets and types,” commented SpeedLabs CEO Nick Meader.

“The potential for trading based on live events is immense, especially in sports—the most viewed and discussed field globally. Yet, it remains an area where such options are limited. SpeedLabs aims to revolutionize that,” he added.

SpeedLabs highlighted the rise of short-term prediction markets as proof of demand for real-time trading opportunities, noting that five-minute Bitcoin markets on Polymarket have amassed over $4 billion in total trading volume, with $153 million recorded in just one day.

Additionally, SpeedLabs referenced data indicating that sports account for around 90% of activity on Kalshi, emphasizing the sector’s significance within the broader prediction markets landscape.

Parlay Capital Holdings CEO and Managing Partner Greg Buonocore remarked that SpeedLabs’ approach is distinct from other offerings in the field.

“SpeedLabs is pioneering a concept we’ve not seen before: employing AI to create markets dynamically, not just to price those that exist,” Buonocore stated.

“Other companies in the industry are merely proposing incremental changes to a sector that hasn’t evolved significantly in decades. Nick and the SpeedLabs team are crafting the foundational layer for the next generation of sportsbooks and prediction markets. We are excited to be leading this funding round,” he added.

These funds will facilitate recruitment efforts in leadership, engineering, machine learning, trading, sports betting, and growth roles in preparation for the anticipated launch in summer 2026.

SpeedLabs aims to unveil a live, skill-based game built on its innovative momentum market concept.
