The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has announced an all-time high in gaming revenue, totaling $625.5 million in May, marking an increase of 3.93% from May 2025.

This revenue figure encompasses earnings from casinos, online gaming, sports betting, video gaming terminals (VGTs), and fantasy sports contests, exceeding the previous record of $623.1 million set in January 2025. Additionally, the state accrued nearly $270 million in tax revenues from these gaming activities throughout the month.

Among the gaming providers in Pennsylvania, Hollywood Casino at Penn National led the charts with $115.4 million in total gaming revenue in May, reflecting a 7.8% year-over-year increase. Valley Forge Casino Resort followed closely with $104.5 million, representing a slight decline of 1.2% compared to May 2025. Rivers Casino Philadelphia reported revenue of $60 million, an increase of 3.7% over the previous year.

Retail slot machine revenue climbed by 3.2% to $232.1 million in May 2026, up from $224.9 million in the same month last year. The number of active slot machines across the state increased to 24,885, rising from 24,347 the previous year.

Parx Casino Philadelphia dominated the slot revenue segment with $35.5 million, followed by Wind Creek Bethlehem with $26 million, and Rivers Casino Pittsburgh with $24 million.

Online gaming continued its upward trajectory, amassing $254.8 million in revenue during May, a notable 9.44% increase from last year’s $232.9 million.

Hollywood Casino at Penn National topped the online gaming market with $98.9 million in revenue, achieving a year-over-year growth of 9.7%. Valley Forge Casino Resort generated $69.8 million, up by 9%, while Rivers Casino Philadelphia reported $40.8 million, reflecting an increase of 10.5%. The state garnered around $117.7 million in tax revenues from online gaming within the month.

Conversely, sports betting faced challenges in May, as the total sports betting handle fell to $595.6 million, marking a 9.1% decrease from the $655.4 million wagered in May 2025. Taxable sports betting revenue also saw a decline of 11.4% year-over-year, totaling $52.6 million.

Valley Forge Casino Resort logged the largest sports betting handle in the state with $201.1 million, generating $21.6 million in revenue. Hollywood Casino at the Meadows followed with a handle of $189.1 million and achieved revenue of $15.1 million, while Hollywood Casino York reported $3.1 million from a handle of $44.6 million.
Sports wagering contributed nearly $19 million in tax revenues for May.

Meanwhile, retail table games revenue rose by 1.66%, totaling $81.2 million compared to $79.9 million in May 2025. Revenue from fantasy contests reached $1.12 million, marking a 3.3% year-over-year increase.

Video gaming terminals generated $3.57 million in adjusted revenue during May, representing a 3.14% decline from the $3.68 million reported the previous year. By month-end, all licensed VGT operators were offering the permissible maximum of five terminals at each of Pennsylvania’s 75 certified truck stops.
