The 2026 FIFA World Cup significantly enhanced Ontario’s regulated online gaming sector in June, leading to an impressive rise in sports betting revenue as numerous bettors engaged with the tournament, as reported by iGaming Ontario (iGO).

This tournament, taking place across the United States, Mexico, along with Toronto and Vancouver, significantly contributed to one of the strongest periods for sports betting this year, highlighting the influence of major international sporting events on the province’s regulated market.
The World Cup occurred from June 11 through July 19.
