Waymo has unveiled plans for its inaugural public robotaxi service in Las Vegas, initiated through a new multi-year alliance with the Las Vegas Raiders. This move signifies the company’s entry into the autonomous ride-sharing market open to the public in the city.

This partnership is centered around Allegiant Stadium, where Waymo will create specific pickup and drop-off points for fans attending Raiders games, concerts, and major events.
Although a launch date has yet to be announced, fans can download the Waymo app and express interest to be among the initial riders when service commences. Early registrations will assist Waymo in assessing demand and enhancing routing before the full rollout.
“Collaborating with Waymo demonstrates our commitment to innovation and delivering the best experience for our fans,” stated Raiders president Sandra Douglass Morgan. “Crucially, it provides them with a safe, dependable autonomous designated driver so they can fully enjoy the event.”
The robotaxi initiative will run using Waymo’s completely driverless fleet, which has been operational in Las Vegas since July 2026 but has previously been restricted to employees and internal trials. The Mountain View, California-based firm has spent the past year meticulously mapping local roads, ensuring safety measures, and working with local transportation authorities to prepare for public operation.
Waymo has not yet outlined the specific service areas for its Raiders-related program. However, drawing from its experiences in Phoenix and San Francisco, the Las Vegas fleet is expected to extend beyond the Strip and downtown as public service increases.
Competing Robotaxis
This announcement follows closely on the heels of a recent launch by Zoox, an Amazon subsidiary and Waymo’s largest competitor, which began offering its first paid unlimited autonomous rides in Las Vegas just three days prior.
The partnership with the Raiders represents Waymo’s first official connection with a prominent sports team, making Allegiant Stadium one of the early NFL locations to integrate autonomous ride-hailing within its transportation framework.
If this model proves successful, it has the potential to be replicated in sports venues across the country.
