Remembering Dolly Parton: Steve Wynn reminisces on his friendship with the late American icon, who passed away at the age of 80 after battling cancer.

Wynn’s friendship with the Queen of Country began in the late 1980s when he hired Parton to perform at Golden Nugget in downtown Las Vegas.

According to Wynn, their bond strengthened when Parton jokingly suggested doing a commercial together after watching one he did with Frank Sinatra. In the Instagram video, he shared, “She saw one and she said to me, ‘Hey, if you make a commercial with Frank Sinatra who makes fun of you, why can’t you make a commercial with me, and I’ll make fun of you.'”

“Let’s dream something up. We can do it tomorrow,” Wynn replied. The duo collaborated on a commercial idea where Parton played a housekeeper and Wynn a room service waiter, ad-libbing and filming it in one take.

Wynn concluded his reflection by stating, “Dolly Parton, we’re all going to miss her. A lot.”
