Kalshi secures marketing agreements with five MLB teams

Kalshi has signed multi-year marketing agreements with five Major League Baseball clubs in its initial collaboration with MLB franchises.

The deals include the Atlanta Braves, Boston Red Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Diego Padres, and San Francisco Giants. Kalshi has confirmed ongoing discussions with MLB for a league-wide partnership.

These agreements grant Kalshi advertising placements on in-stadium signage and LED boards, as well as promotion across social media, online channels, and radio. Additionally, the agreements include fan activations and club-specific offers within the Kalshi app.

At Dodger Stadium, Kalshi will have naming rights to the Gold Glove Bar, an indoor sports bar below the Left Field Pavilion with a view of the Dodgers’ bullpen. Dodgers fans will also have access to bonus offers and on-site activations at Centerfield Plaza throughout the season.

Through these partnerships, MLB fans can trade on predictions related to games, player performances, and season-long futures using Kalshi’s platform.

The concept is that fans are already engaging with their favorite teams on Kalshi, so extending that fandom to some of America’s most beloved baseball teams only makes sense,” stated Adam Barrick, Head of Sports Partnerships at Kalshi.

Both the Red Sox and Dodgers had hinted at these arrangements before the official announcement on Tuesday. Boston had shared content featuring Kalshi branding last Friday, and Kalshi signage had already been visible at Dodgers games.

These five partnerships join an existing lineup of sports collaborations, including the NHL, Chicago Blackhawks, LALIGA North America, and the Argentina Football Association. Kalshi’s participation in the FIFA World Cup earlier this year also led to an increase in revenue for the company.

The Red Sox deal comes amidst an ongoing legal battle in Massachusetts related to Kalshi’s sports event contracts. Kalshi continues to face legal challenges over sports bets in various states; for example, a Michigan judge blocked the platform from offering sports bets to residents in June.

Rivals also pursuing team-level deals

Kalshi’s foray into MLB coincides with competitors seeking similar arrangements. Novig became the first prediction market platform to partner with an MLB team when it collaborated with the New York Mets on July 30. Polymarket followed suit on August 6 with an agreement covering the New York Yankees.

The five teams represent close to 17% of MLB’s 30 franchises and boast a combined estimated fan base of 60 million to 65 million, according to national polling data referenced by Kalshi. These clubs also have approximately 9 million combined followers on social media.

According to Kalshi, baseball-related trading volume has surged more than 36 times year-over-year, with nearly $60 million traded solely in its World Series futures market.
