Gateway and BetRivers Collaborate in Alberta

BetRivers and Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Ltd. have joined forces on a promotional partnership in Alberta’s regulated iGaming market. BetRivers was one of the first operators to go live in the province when the market launched on July 13.

The partnership will connect BetRivers’ digital platform with Gateway’s Edmonton properties – Grand Villa Casino in the ICE District and Starlight Casino inside West Edmonton Mall. Events and promotions will bridge the gap between brick-and-mortar casino players and the iGaming platform.

Edmonton Casinos Promotion

“Alberta is a market we’ve been eager to enter, and our partnership with Gateway allows us to engage players in a unique way,” said Richard Schwartz, CEO of Rush Street Interactive. “By combining our platform with Edmonton’s iconic entertainment destinations, we offer Albertans more gaming opportunities and reasons to visit as we expand in the province.”

Gateway will enhance gaming options for customers who prefer playing online or can’t visit a physical casino, according to a BetRivers spokesperson.

Connecting Gaming Channels

Summer events and promotions will kick off, with more planned throughout the year to connect online and land-based gaming experiences and attract a wider customer base, including brand ambassadors at Gateway properties.

While BetRivers does not currently have retail sportsbooks at Gateway properties, licensed private iGaming operators in Alberta can open retail sportsbooks within approved locations, such as casinos or sports venues.

Expansion Plans

Gateway’s CEO, Tolek Strukoff, stated, “Gateway has been part of Alberta’s entertainment landscape for over two decades. Through our partnership with BetRivers, the gaming experience extends beyond our physical locations, offering Albertans three great places to play.”
