This past weekend, BetMGM unveiled a new retail sportsbook at Tailgate Beach Club, a popular pool dayclub at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. Guests who meet the eligibility requirements now have the opportunity to place bets at an outdoor window inside a transformed cabana, all while enjoying the pool deck.

Tailgate Beach Club, which opened in May at the site of the former Daylight Beach Club, is located near Allegiant Stadium on the south end of the Strip. The venue features three heated pools, 22 cabanas, lounge seating, food and drink options, and over 145 feet of LED displays that can showcase live odds and game feeds to a capacity of up to 2,000 guests.

Guests who are 21 and older can now place wagers at the new window. They also have the option to register for the BetMGM app onsite, with mobile usage contingent on state regulations and the individual’s location. The BetMGM app is currently accessible in 23 states as well as Washington DC and Puerto Rico.

This addition expands BetMGM’s presence within MGM Resorts to a total of 10 sportsbooks on the Strip, including the existing indoor book at Mandalay Bay.

According to a statement by Matt Prevost, BetMGM’s chief revenue officer, “Tailgate Beach Club has quickly become one of the most exciting places in Las Vegas to watch live sports, and the addition of the BetMGM Sportsbook gives fans another way to get in on the action. As more people travel to Las Vegas for marquee sporting events, we’re focused on creating unique experiences that bring together sports, entertainment, and betting.”

A Unique Offering in Las Vegas

While this marks BetMGM’s first poolside sportsbook and the inaugural staffed outdoor sportsbook window on the Strip, it is not the first poolside sportsbook in Las Vegas. That title belongs to Stadium Swim at Circa Resort & Casino downtown, where Circa Sports kiosks have been in operation beneath the video board since the pool amphitheater debuted along with the resort on October 28, 2020.

Furthermore, Stadium Swim accepts bets throughout the year, whereas BetMGM’s Tailgate betting window operates seasonally in conjunction with the beach club—from March Madness until Super Bowl Sunday.

General admission to BetMGM’s Tailgate Beach Club window is complimentary with an RSVP. Cabanas, reserved seating, and group packages are available for purchase separately.
