More than 46 years after the King of Rock’n’Roll, Elvis Presley, passed away, his hypothetical impact on the world of music and society remains a subject of speculation. Although we can’t definitively answer that question, artificial intelligence has now provided an image of how Elvis would have appeared at the age of 88.
In these computer-generated images, obtained by the Daily Star website, Elvis appears with the saggy skin resembling that of a basset hound. His teeth are discolored and decaying, indicating a lack of dental care during his hypothetical later years. However, his trademark dyed-black hair remains well-maintained. Additionally, the AI program seems to have resolved the health issues that plagued Elvis and caused his weight to reach around 350 lbs before his untimely death at the age of 42.
During his time as a headliner at the Las Vegas Hilton, Elvis reportedly faced numerous health issues, including cardiovascular disease, hepatitis, bleeding ulcers, and drug addiction. It is well-documented that he was prescribed nearly 10,000 medications, consisting of amphetamines, barbiturates, narcotics, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, laxatives, and hormones. Such excessive and unethical medical treatment worsened his condition.

The images were generated by DALL-E 2, an AI system developed by OpenAI, a San Francisco-based research lab. This system utilizes natural language descriptions to create realistic images. It remains unclear to what extent the program had creative freedom in dressing Elvis, including whether it chose his signature glasses and one of his rhinestone jumpsuits.
Elvis Presley passed away on August 16, 1977, although some individuals still harbor doubts about the official cause of his death. While his death was attributed to cardiac arrhythmia, the presence of a lodged impacted stool in his large intestine led the chief investigator for Tennessee’s chief medical examiner to speculate that he died from a strain known as “Valsalva’s maneuver.” This intense chest compression strain can lead to fatal heart arrhythmia or heart attacks, particularly in individuals with underlying heart disease.
