Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of Texas to launch temporary casino in Leggett this summer

This summer, the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe is set to launch a temporary casino on its reservation lands located in Leggett, East Texas.

The 24/7 gaming facility will boast 300 electronic bingo machines, a round-the-clock deli, a beverage station, a dedicated player’s club, and approximately 300 parking spots.

“This interim facility is expected to bring a significant economic boost to Polk County, local communities, and the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe,” stated Tribal Council Chairman Ricky Sylestine. “The casino will generate 110 new employment opportunities, enhance community collaboration, and lay the groundwork for sustainable tourism development.”

Furthermore, the tribe is planning a groundbreaking ceremony on June 18 for the upcoming Naskila Casino Resort, which will be erected adjacent to the temporary casino site.

Currently, the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe manages Naskila Casino and the Ischoopa Travel Center, situated along U.S. Highway 190, Park Road 56, in the area between Livingston and Woodville.

Since its inception in 2016, the Naskila Casino has provided various amenities including Class II bingo machines, designated smoking and non-smoking gaming environments, the Timbers Grille Restaurant, Café Itto Si, a player’s club, beverage stations, and a gift shop.

The Ischoopa Travel Center features a 12-bay fuel station with diesel options, a convenience store, a deli open 24 hours, and 81 Class II bingo machines.
