American Bettors’ Voice (ABV), a wagering advocacy group established earlier this year, has revealed that Dr. Harry Crane, a professor at Rutgers University, has joined its advisory board.
With degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Chicago, Crane is a respected figure in sports wagering for his research on betting exchanges, prediction markets, and sports analytics.
Dr. Crane is a Professor of Statistics and Affiliated Faculty in the Graduate Program in Philosophy at Rutgers University. He has extensive experience as a Visiting Scholar in Mathematics at the University of California at Berkeley, a Fellow at the London Mathematical Institute, and a Research Associate at the RAND Corporation,” as stated by ABV.
Crane’s addition to the ABV board is timely as sports bettors face regulatory challenges and vast amounts of data and analysis. ABV aims to utilize Crane’s expertise in navigating these complexities and providing a clearer view of the US sports wagering environment.
Crane’s Proficiency Benefits ABV
As the seventh member of the ABV advisory board, Crane’s background underscores his value to the organization.
He is also a co-founder of Researchers. One, a decentralized platform for academic research peer reviews, and a faculty member of Analytics.Bet – an online course series for enhancing sports bettors’ knowledge.
Introduction to ABV
American Bettors’ Voice was founded earlier this year by renowned professional sports bettors Gadoon “Spanky” Kryollos and Billy Walters, along with gaming industry veteran Richard Scheutz. With over four decades of casino experience, including in Las Vegas and regional properties, Scheutz brings valuable expertise.
The group focuses on issues like operators restricting winning bettors, enhancing terms and conditions policies, and improving payment processes.
According to the group’s website, “The current sports betting landscape lacks transparency and fails to address the needs of consumers. ABV strives for a sustainable betting model that aligns with the interests of bettors.”
