Minnesota authorities have apprehended Blake Carl Fitzgerald, 40, for allegedly operating an illegal gambling scheme on TikTok. Under the operation, Fitzgerald played slot machines at local casinos on behalf of over 100 participants, who made payments totaling $65,103.50 through Venmo and CashApp. If convicted, Fitzgerald may face up to three years in prison and significant fines.
Illegal Gambling Operation
Fitzgerald operated his illicit gambling scheme by soliciting bets from TikTok users. After visiting Mystic Lake Casino Hotel and Treasure Island Resort & Casino, he would play slot machines on behalf of his subscribers. Payments were made through Venmo and CashApp, with participants being charged $5.99 for the service. If convicted, Fitzgerald may face imprisonment and substantial fines.
Fire Damages Vehicles at Horseshoe Casino
A fire broke out at the parking garage of Indiana’s Horseshoe Casino Hammond, resulting in damaged vehicles. Though initially reported as an explosion, investigators have confirmed that there was no explosion. The cause of the fire remains unknown, and there were no reported injuries.
Similar Incident in Connecticut
Last October, another casino parking garage in Connecticut experienced a fire that damaged several vehicles. The flames were likely the cause of the damage, though the exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
