Wednesday evening saw a violent incident at Northern California’s Thunder Valley Casino Resort, where five people were stabbed at a restaurant, as reported by authorities.

The violence transpired at Dos Coyotes restaurant in the tribal casino near Lincoln, California, around 7 p.m., according to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office.
All individuals involved, including the five victims and the suspected assailant, were restaurant employees, with no casino patrons implicated, stated a Thunder Valley spokesperson to CBS Sacramento. Thankfully, none of the injuries were considered life-threatening.
The stabbings took place within the restaurant’s kitchen area, based on the casino’s information.
Suspect Had Familiarity with Victims
Responding deputies apprehended a male suspect in his twenties at the site of the incident. Footage from CBS Sacramento depicted the man still in a kitchen apron as he was placed in a sheriff’s patrol car.
As of Thursday morning, the suspect’s identity remained undisclosed, and the motive behind the attack was unclear.
Investigations revealed that the suspect was acquainted with all five victims.
One of the injured employees was taken to a hospital, while the other four received treatment on-site from Thunder Valley Casino EMTs and CAL FIRE personnel.
The Placer County Sheriff’s Office promptly alerted the public of the incident, confirming that while there was a reported stabbing, a suspect was already in custody, and there was no active threat.
The department later verified that five individuals had been stabbed and assured the absence of any other outstanding suspects. The detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack.

Thunder Valley Casino Resort, which is 30 miles northeast of Sacramento and owned by the United Auburn Indian Community, boasts a vast complex comprising a casino, hotel, restaurants, and the 4,500-seat Venue at Thunder Valley entertainment facility.
The casino has not indicated any major disruptions to its operations following the stabbing incident on Wednesday night.
