Following a theft investigation at the Club LIV in the Fontainebleau Las Vegas, four suspects have been caught recently.
Among the stolen items were a $400K Richard Mille watch and another Richard Mille watch valued at $120K.
The initial theft occurred on August 17 when Ye Zaw noticed his watch missing after a restroom visit in the nightclub.
On September 15, Roman Loyfenfeld had his luxury watch stolen by the suspects during a scuffle on the dance floor.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) used surveillance videos to identify the suspects involved in both incidents.
The suspects were observed targeting their victims, creating distractions, and stealing the watches, according to KLAS.
Facial Recognition Technology
Fontainebleau security recognized the suspects on November 22 using facial recognition technology and they were subsequently arrested for grand larceny and conspiracy.
The suspects were identified as Milton Castillo Martinez, Laura Vargas, Briyith Munoz, and Johan Hernandez.
They are set to appear in court on January 22 and may face imprisonment if convicted.
Preplanned Thefts
Both thefts were premeditated, according to local authorities.
They showed clear planning and coordination, by surrounding their victims and creating a diversion or friction with their bodies to distract the victim from the watches being taken off their wrist,” according to a LVMPD arrest report quoted by the Review-Journal.
A spokesperson from Fontainebleau emphasized that guest safety and security are their top priorities.
Rolex Theft Incident
In a separate incident, a reputed sex worker was arrested for stealing a luxury watch and cash from a man at the same hotel.
The suspect, Koncina Brisbon, allegedly drugged the man and stole his Rolex watch, cash, and casino chips after spending time together at the hotel.
The victim discovered the theft after waking up to find Brisbon missing.
