- Betty expands into online bingo with the acquisition of a bingo hall
- The bingo hall has been a vital part of the Kirkland community since 1998
- This bingo hall serves as both a social hub and a charitable source for local organizations
Betty Gaming in Ontario is strategically venturing into the realm of online bingo, announcing its acquisition of the Kirkland Lake Bingo Hall as a key step forward.

Support for Charitable Initiatives Through Regulated Bingo
Betty made its debut in Ontario’s regulated iGaming sector in 2023, targeting female gamblers through its online casino platform. By 2024, the company began diversifying its audience while maintaining a balanced gender representation among players, citing a 50-50 split. Betty is also among the operators eyeing opportunities in Alberta’s new regulated market as it gears up to launch this spring or summer.
This expansion aligns well with the company’s broader diversification strategy.
Since 1998, the Kirkland Lake Bingo Hall has played an integral role within its community, serving as a place for social interaction. This acquisition allows Betty to operate within Ontario’s regulated framework for charitable bingo.

Community-Centric Focus
The firm aims to enhance the charitable contributions that benefit local communities, aiding organizations involved in health, youth, services, and recreation. A portion of all revenue generated by Betty in Ontario’s iGaming sector will be allocated for charitable purposes.
“This acquisition marks a significant milestone as we introduce our iBingo offerings in Ontario,” stated Chavdar Dimitrov, CEO of Betty. “We are thrilled to innovate within a regulated environment, transforming our growth into substantial charitable support for local communities.”
Anticipated Online Bingo Launch
“This is a long-lasting investment in the Kirkland Lake area, focusing on preserving a community staple, aiding local charities, and ensuring bingo’s continued relevance and accessibility for emerging generations of players.”
The acquisition was finalized in late 2025, and Kirkland Lake Bingo will retain its original name. The hall currently employs four staff members, all of whom will remain with the establishment.
In their announcement, Betty pledged to enhance the technology and facilities of the bingo hall.
Third Operator in the Market
According to a representative from iGaming Ontario, Betty has become the third operator within the province’s regulated market to launch peer-to-peer online bingo.
Currently, peer-to-peer online bingo falls under the casino category in iGaming Ontario’s monthly market performance analytics. In January, the online casino sector captured a substantial 77% of the total market share based on the non-adjusted gross gaming revenue figures ($308.9 million).
