BetMGM, a leading sports betting platform in New Jersey, has introduced the Borgata Arcade, a unique offering that combines iGaming and nostalgic amusement games. This innovative feature is expected to appeal to players of all ages.
In a recent statement to Casino.org , BetMGM announced the launch of the Borgata Arcade on its online app and website. With a collection of 118 interactive titles, including popular games like skeeball and “Street Fighter II,” the Arcade offers a fresh take on traditional iGaming content.
The Borgata Arcade also features a variety of Slingo products and celebrity-branded games from notable figures such as Wayne Gretzky, John Daly, and Gordon Ramsay, among others.
According to Matt Prevost, BetMGM’s chief revenue officer, the Borgata Arcade is a comprehensive destination for players to find their favorite games. By bringing the arcade experience to iGaming, BetMGM continues to redefine the gaming industry.
To encourage players to try out the new feature, BetMGM is offering a promotion where users can win up to $1,000 in site credit by staking a minimum of $20 in the Borgata Arcade.
With the addition of the Borgata Arcade, BetMGM’s New Jersey iGaming platform now offers over 1,500 games, including slots, table games, live dealer options, arcade games, virtual sports, variety games, bingo, and keno.
Arcade Popularity
The popularity of arcades and amusement games is on the rise in Atlantic City, as the resort aims to attract new visitors.
For instance, the former casino floor of Showboat, now operated by Caesars Entertainment, is home to the “Biggest Arcade in America.” The Lucky Snake offers over 600 arcade games, along with an indoor go-kart track.
Recently, Harrah’s Atlantic City opened The Arcade, a high-energy, multi-sensory amusement space spanning 5,328 square feet. The Arcade features attractions such as a giant claw machine and various virtual reality games.
Dave & Busters is also set to open its first location in Atlantic City next month. The restaurant and kid-focused arcade will occupy a 21,000-square-foot space in the Tanager Outlets shopping center.
While arcades may have lost some popularity in other parts of the country, they have always been a cherished part of New Jersey’s culture, particularly among its youth.
Interestingly, the classic 1988 movie “Big,” starring Tom Hanks, featured a story revolving around a New Jersey boy’s wish to become an adult after interacting with a fortune-telling arcade machine called “Zoltar.” The movie scene was filmed in the Palisades Interstate Park in New Jersey.
Market Leader
As one of the six states allowing online casinos with slots and table games, New Jersey is a prominent market for iGaming. The online partners of Atlantic City’s nine casinos have generated over $1.4 billion in gross gaming revenue (GGR) in 2023 through September.
Borgata’s online offerings have been particularly successful, with its partners contributing $375.8 million to the internet GGR. Alongside BetMGM, Borgata’s online partnerships include PartyCasino, Stardust Casino, and Wheel of Fortune Casino.
