- Caesars Entertainment has selected Suffolk Construction to spearhead the restoration of the iconic Flamingo Las Vegas for its 80th anniversary
- Suffolk’s impressive portfolio includes the $2.6 billion Encore Boston Harbor and Florida’s $1.5 billion Seminole Hard Rock Guitar Hotel
- The company is also overseeing the Four Seasons Private Residences project in Henderson and the Campus for Hope initiative in West Las Vegas
Boston-based Suffolk has revealed its role in leading the renovation and expansion efforts at Flamingo Las Vegas as part of Caesars Entertainment’s celebration of the hotel’s milestone 80th anniversary this year.

This initiative signifies Suffolk’s debut in significant construction projects on the Las Vegas Strip. Opened on December 26, 1946, the Flamingo is the longest-running brand still in operation along the boulevard, and Caesars is counting on this new partner to modernize its public areas while sustaining ongoing revenue generation.
The Renovation Vision
Key aspects of the renovation include a transformed guest arrival experience, featuring a fully revamped lobby complete with a new central bar that will offer tabletop gaming and comfortable lounge areas, upgraded registration facilities for both VIP and standard guests, enhanced public spaces, and an overhaul of Bugsy’s Bar located on the casino floor. The design is being developed by Allard & Conversano, showcasing tropical and flamingo-inspired themes.
In a statement released by Caesars Entertainment in November 2025, Dan Walsh, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Flamingo Las Vegas, elaborated on the vision:
“We are unveiling innovative designs that align with the recent enhancements to our property, crafting environments that resonate with modern aesthetics while remaining quintessentially Flamingo. This resort has always held a special place on The Strip, and these upgrades will ensure it continues to be a lively and essential destination for years ahead.”
Suffolk’s Strategic Approach
Suffolk established its permanent operations in Nevada in 2023 and will be moving to its new headquarters at Hughes Center (3800 Howard Hughes Parkway) in early 2026. The company boasts a diverse gaming portfolio, including the $2.6 billion Encore Boston Harbor and Florida’s $1.5 billion Seminole Hard Rock Guitar Hotel.
In the Las Vegas region, Suffolk is already engaged in the following projects:
- Four Seasons Private Residences: A luxury high-rise project situated in Henderson, where they have recently completed a significant concrete pour.
- Campus for Hope: A 20-acre community facility providing services for the homeless located in the West Valley.
While making strides in Las Vegas, Suffolk is also dealing with the repercussions of a federal court ruling from late 2024 relating to a breach-of-contract issue linked to the Met Square skyscraper in Miami. The court mandated Suffolk to pay $4.1 million in damages plus $1.2 million in pre-judgment interest to the surety, Berkley Insurance, citing mismanagement that led to a “chaotic” working environment, including necessitating subcontractors to work across multiple floors at once.
