xQc started his career in 2016 as a professional player in the game “Overwatch,” developed by Blizzard Entertainment. His esports journey was filled with controversies leading to suspensions and ultimately, his team’s dismissal in 2019.

After focusing on live-streaming content on Twitch, Lengyel gained a massive following, becoming wealthy along the way. In June 2023, he signed a deal with Kick worth $100 million to move his esports stream to Stake.com’s platform created by Bijan Tehrani and Ed Craven.

As part of his deal with Kick, xQc started streaming his online gambling activities on the Stake platform. He recently revealed to his audience the extent of his gambling on Stake.

Nearly $3B Wagered

Lengyel shared a screenshot of his Stake account showing that he has bet almost $3 billion. He has placed a total of 1,138,753 bets, averaging $2,594 per wager.

xQc has incurred more losses than wins, with 1,011,365 losses against 112,015 wins. His bets include slot machines, table games, and sports.

Some of xQc’s followers questioned the legitimacy of his betting activities, speculating that Stake provides him with credits to promote the platform rather than using his own funds.

He gets paid to use Stakes’ money to gamble and get others addicted to gambling,” read one response.

Stake is a cryptocurrency-based online casino platform that offers real money interactive gambling.

Stake.com is not authorized in the US but is popular in Canada and globally. The platform is licensed in Curacao. In the US, Stake operates a free-to-play social casino in many states, with real money gambling being prohibited.

Legal real-money online casino gambling is restricted to certain states, excluding Stake from operations in Connecticut, Delaware, Michigan, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.

xQc Unapologetic

Kick is leveraging xQc to promote its streaming service and encourage esports players to gamble on Stake. Despite criticism from some fans about promoting gambling, xQc dismissed their concerns earlier this year.

Backwards-ass people thinking that an idiot aiming to entertain (me) rips away all free will from vulnerable individuals. Get a grip of your own life before fixing mine,” xQc wrote on Kick.

Following allegations of a gambling problem, xQc is banned from all casinos in Quebec. He is currently appealing his inclusion on the exclusion list following an incident at a Montreal casino.
