- Carnival Cruise Line is introducing a new inter-ship lottery game.
- Carnival Millions offers a grand prize of $1 million.
- Details about the game, including participation costs, remain largely undisclosed.
Carnival Cruise Line is enhancing its gaming offerings for guests, though not all customers are excited about the change.

As a subsidiary of Carnival Corporation, the largest cruise line operator globally, Carnival Cruise Line is launching a new lottery called Carnival Millions. This interactive lottery connects ships throughout the fleet, providing players with an opportunity to win prizes up to $1 million daily.
Carnival Cruise Line guests will be able to purchase digital tickets for Carnival Millions using the Carnival HUB app while onboard. All participating ships across North America and Europe will take part in synchronized drawings, announcing winning numbers and additional prize opportunities.
“By connecting our fleet into a single thrilling lottery, we’re fostering a collective excitement that extends beyond individual cruises. This experience allows every guest a shot at a transformational jackpot, which is exactly the kind of joy our guests seek,” commented Marty Goldman, Senior Vice President of Global Gaming at Carnival Corporation.
Carnival Millions is managed by TimePlay, an interactive entertainment company that focuses on engaging consumers. TimePlay’s clients also include industry giants like Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruises, which are part of the “Big Three” in the cruise sector.
Is Carnival Millions a Cash Game or Just Promotion?
The operational details of Carnival Millions, particularly the cost to participate, have not been revealed. It remains unclear whether the lottery will provide actual cash prizes or only credits for onboard use or future travel.
Carnival has indicated that winnings can range from onboard credits to a potential $1 million jackpot, and players will see their earnings instantly on the Carnival HUB app. Major winners will be notified by the casino and guest services teams aboard the ship.
Carnival Millions also did not share information regarding the odds of winning the $1 million jackpot or other secondary prizes.
Customer Feedback
The introduction of the fleetwide lottery from Carnival faced some pushback.
Following the anticipation generated by the company regarding new onboard gaming, some guests expressed disappointment over the announcement of yet another lottery game. Carnival Cruise Line already offers Pick 3 and Pick 4 lottery draws, which feature cash prizes up to $55,000.
“They found another way to profit. Big deal,” remarked one user on Reddit’s CarnivalCruiseFans subreddit. “The odds are likely better with Mega Millions.”
Another Reddit user jokingly wondered if the winning numbers for Carnival Millions would be announced over the ship’s PA system. “Yes, at midnight, while everyone is tucked in their cabins,” responded one commenter.
Others expressed hopes for the gaming update to include the introduction of an onboard sportsbook. Currently, while Carnival Cruise Line ships feature casinos and sports betting via BetMGM, no vessel has established a dedicated sportsbook facility yet.
