On Wednesday, The Cordish Companies unveiled the Live! red logo on the future Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana in Bossier City, set to open next year.
The casino is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2025, with Cordish investing $270 million to transform the former Diamond Jacks riverboat casino into a Live!-branded resort. Joshua Robinson, vice president of marketing for the new establishment, sees the logo placement as the start of a “new era.”
Robinson remarked, “Putting the sign on the building is like putting the icing on the cake. It’s an exciting day. People are getting ready to get ‘live.'”
With this investment, Cordish expands its gaming reach to Louisiana, adding to its operations in Maryland and Pennsylvania where it runs Live! Casino & Hotel properties.
Diamond in the Rough
Diamond Jacks closed permanently during the pandemic, prompting Peninsula Pacific Entertainment to sell the property to Foundation Gaming, which later sold it to Cordish for redevelopment.
Cordish’s plan for the property includes a new casino, hotel renovations, and additional amenities to elevate the guest experience.
The new Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana will feature a range of gaming options, upscale hotel accommodations, an RV park, multipurpose event space, parking garage, and outdoor pool. It will add to the gaming offerings in Bossier City/Shreveport alongside other popular properties.

Cordish’s investment is expected to create jobs, generate tax revenue, and boost the local economy in Bossier City. The company also aims to support local businesses and provide opportunities for diverse contractors.
