Virgin Hotels Las Vegas has officially announced the departure of President Cliff Atkinson from the organization.
Atkinson, who joined the establishment in 2023, is no longer with the hotel, according to a report by the Las Vegas Review Journal. The reason for his exit was not disclosed by the resort.
“We appreciate Cliff’s contributions and leadership during his time with us, and we wish him success in his future pursuits,” the hotel stated in a press release on Tuesday.
COO Lia Rispoli will take on the additional role of president, maintaining her current responsibilities. Rispoli has been part of the leadership team at the resort since 2011. The casino added, “Lia brings a wealth of experience in Las Vegas and has played a crucial role in overseeing the property’s operations since 2011.” “Both the ownership and executive team at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas are confident in Lia’s capabilities to uphold the outstanding guest services offered by the property.”
Atkinson’s exit follows the licensing of C&C 4455 by Nevada gaming regulators in December 2024. This joint venture between Atkinson and longtime Virgin CFO Chad Konrad was established to manage the casino after the conclusion of its contract with Mohegan Gaming. It remains uncertain if Atkinson will continue as CEO of C&C 4455 or remain connected to casino operations at the hotel.
Prior to his role at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, Atkinson held the position of president at Fontainebleau prior to the North Strip resort’s opening in December 2023. His background also includes key leadership roles as president and COO of Luxor and a senior vice president at MGM Resorts International.
