Caesars New Orleans is set for its grand revelation almost four years after the Big Easy downtown casino initiated the extensive process of rebranding and revamping the Harrah’s property. The highly anticipated opening of the lavish Caesars-themed destination coincides perfectly with Taylor Swift’s appearance at the nearby Caesars Superdome.

New Orleans’ sole land-based casino, Caesars Entertainment, in 2019 reached an agreement with state legislators to prolong the company’s gaming license until 2054 in return for a minimum investment of $325 million in property enhancements. Caesars promptly announced the allocation of the funds for the construction of a 15-story, 340-room hotel with two distinct brands, as well as a complete renovation and rebranding of the existing structure into Caesars.

The entire 115,000-square-foot casino, featuring 1,300 slot machines and 120 live dealer table games, has been modernized, with the latest additions being a new World Series of Poker Room and Caesars Sportsbook.

The 5,000-square-foot poker room accommodates 20 tables, while the sportsbook features a 147-foot wall display and seating for 178 guests. The popular outdoor smoking lounge, equipped with 120 slots, was also refurbished.

Regarding the hotel, the Nobu brand occupies the two lower floors with 54 rooms and 12 suites.

New ‘Era’

On Tuesday, Caesars New Orleans will remove the remaining construction barriers and conclude its $435 million project, an investment that expanded by over $100 million due to inflation.

Caesars’ significant investment in the Big Easy aligns perfectly with the influx of visitors descending on New Orleans for Taylor Swift’s performances at the Superdome this weekend. Swift will showcase her “Eras Tour” at the Caesars Superdome with concerts scheduled for this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Caesar secured a 20-year naming rights deal for the iconic home of the NFL’s New Orleans Saints in July 2021 for $138 million. Mercedes-Benz had previously sponsored the multi-purpose stadium over the past decade.

Over 150,000 fans are expected to fill the Superdome during the three events this weekend. Many of these fans will be accompanied by their parents, some of whom will seek nighttime entertainment before and after the concert. Caesars New Orleans, located less than a mile south of the stadium, is charging premium rates for its remaining rooms.

While a room for tonight is priced at $185, on Friday, the same room starts at $1,099. Including taxes, fees, and a $19.99 resort fee, the total cost amounts to $1,282.68.

As Casino.org highlighted, analysts at JPMorgan anticipate a boost in Caesars’ operational performance due to Swift’s performances in New Orleans.

Super Calendar

After the “Swifties” depart, Caesars New Orleans and the city will shift focus to the Superdome hosting the 2025 Super Bowl on February 9.

Super Bowl LIX will mark the eighth time the NFL championship game is held at the Superdome. New Orleans is part of the NFL’s rotation of host cities for the Super Bowl, alongside cities like Los Angeles, Miami, Houston, Phoenix, Atlanta, San Francisco, and most recently, Las Vegas.
