The “AI Predictions Market Contracts” will be launched on Crypto.com’s OG Prediction Markets in September. Initially, 20 contracts will be rolled out, with plans to add an additional 25 each quarter to expand the partnership to cover new technologies, industries, and business applications of AI. These derivatives aim to provide companies and traders, including professionals, with innovative tools to capitalize on AI adoption trends.

“Rather than relying on indirect indicators such as semiconductor demand, cloud infrastructure spending or technology company earnings to gauge AI’s progress, the PYMNTS proprietary system measures AI adoption directly through continuously refreshed primary research,” as stated. “Those independently measured signals become the foundation for tradable contracts that allow market participants to express informed views on how AI adoption is evolving across industries and across the broader economy.”

The contracts will settle based on independently measured changes in AI adoption using rules-based metrics.

Crypto.com, PYMNTS Breaking New Ground

Crypto.com has been a trailblazer in the prediction market industry. It entered the scene in late 2024 with a focus on that year’s NFL playoffs and the Super Bowl.

With the PYMNTS Intelligence partnership, the cryptocurrency broker is expanding its offerings beyond sports and targeting more professional market participants. This audience is increasingly sought after in the prediction market community.

The timing of the new event contracts could prove advantageous, as AI adoption and deployment are growing rapidly. However, professional traders and investors have had limited tools to express views on these trends. The collaboration between Crypto.com and PYMNTS offers a unique approach supported by regularly updated data.

“Fresh consumer, enterprise, and corporate measurements are collected monthly and quarterly, continuously refreshing the market to ensure settlements reflect current changes in AI adoption rather than historical averages or one-time events,” mentioned the companies.

How the Event Contracts Will Work

Understanding how the AI-based event contracts function is crucial for prospective traders. The Crypto.com/PYMNTS derivatives will be supported by three measurement sources: consumer behavior, corporate deployment, and company and broader market disclosures.

Consumer behavior measurements will be updated monthly, while the other two metrics will be refreshed quarterly. The enterprise deployment category may be particularly appealing to traders with traditional AI-focused company bets.

“It measures how organizations deploy AI, including production agents, workflow automation, realized productivity gains, software replacement, and business outcomes through a nationally representative study of 500 U.S. enterprises and the executives responsible for AI strategy and investment,” according to the press release.
