Ted Pappageorge, Secretary-Treasurer of the Culinary Union, is leading the charges as members will demonstrate at the Strat and Sahara gaming properties on Friday night.
Las Vegas hospitality workers, who are part of the Culinary Workers Union Local 226 and the Bartenders Union Local 165, are without labor contracts. Union members said that they are prepared to take industrial action if they don’t reach an agreement by February 2. The union has also scheduled additional informational pickets in the coming days at other Las Vegas properties.
The 7,000 Las Vegas Strip and downtown Las Vegas hospitality workers are pushing for new five-year contracts that include competitive salary hikes on the heels of the union successfully negotiating new deals with Wynn Resorts, Caesars Entertainment, and MGM Resorts International.
